Kingsly Nji Nche enrolled in the Master's programme 'International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region' at HSE University–St Petersburg after studying journalism in Cameroon. Wang Yali has been interested in Russian language and politics since her time as an undergraduate at Peking University. After graduating with a degree in Asian and African Languages and Literatures and a second degree in International Relations, she pursued a Master’s in International Relations at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at HSE University–Moscow. She is now pursuing a PhD at the Doctoral School of Political Science, examining Russian narratives of ‘East,’ ‘West,’ and its own place among them.

On March 11, 2026, the HSE Cultural Centre hosted an outstanding performance by prize-winner of international competitions and one of the most in-demand classical artists of today, Vladimir Vishnevsky, together with the chamber orchestra Pelle d’Oca under the direction of Nikolay Shugaev. The concert was organised by the university’s Centre of Music Projects in cooperation with the Corporate Academy and was dedicated to the arrival of spring.

The first semi-final of the new season of Science Battles took place at VDNKh. Four researchers from the Moscow, St Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod campuses of HSE University came together on one stage to prove that science recognises neither geographical nor disciplinary boundaries. The theme of the evening—Conquering Mountain Peaks—perfectly reflected the spirit of the competition: chemical formulas, social problems, psychology, and law all appeared side by side.

Vertical microseries may radically transform the Russian and global entertainment industry in the coming years, potentially displacing traditional television and web series. This is the conclusion reached by the authors of an international study, including Anna Novikova, a professor at the Faculty of Creative Industries of HSE University. The paper has been published in RUDN Journal of Studies in Literature and Journalism.

Students of the School of Art and Design at HSE University–St Petersburg went on an art expedition to India together with Dean Mitya Kharshak and senior lecturer Ekaterina Filipenko. Parsa Farid Almasizadeh is the winner of the HSE Outstanding Alumni Award in the nomination ‘For Special Achievements in Career and Public Life among International Alumni of HSE University’. He was born and raised in Tehran and received his higher education in Russia. After completing his master’s degree at MIEM, he stayed on to work at HSE. Nicolas Lagios joined the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) at HSE University–Moscow as an assistant professor in 2025. He holds a Master’s and a PhD in Economics and his research interests include political economy, cultural economics, and applied economics.
