С. 105-119Materials and methods: Based on 123 foreign and domestic papers, a systematic review was carried out on the genesis and clinical manifestations of non-motor symptoms in cervical dystonia (CD). Key conclusions: CD is a neurological disease with neurophysiological and genetic justification. A high incidence of comorbid psychiatric illness in CD patients is noted; CD has a tendency to relapse; motor and non-motor components of the disease are characterized by an independent course. For successful treatment of CD, complex therapy is needed aimed at treating both motor and non-motor components.. doi

From Hate-Watching to GMOs: Highlights of the HSE Science Battles’ Third Semi-Finals
The fifth season of HSE Science Battles is currently underway, with the Sber office serving as a venue for another stage of the battle. Four speakers fought for a place in the finals by presenting their research in a ‘TED Talks’ format. Russian Researchers Assessed the Likelihood of Sleep Disorders after COVID-19
A team of researchers from the HSE Centre for Cognition and Decision Making and the Central State Medical Academy conducted a study on sleep disorders, mood and fatigue after COVID-19. These factors are interrelated and the researchers recommend a comprehensive approach to treat the problem effectively. The work was published in the journal Neuroscience and Behavioral Psychology.
Lasers, Magnetic Stimulation and a Robotic Arm: How Researchers at HSE University Study the Brain
The Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN) at HSE University has recently added state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to its range of tools for studying brain function. The News Service visited the Institute to learn more about the uses of infrared lasers, optical tomography and a unique robotic arm, as well as why research into vascular tone is important, which parts of the brain can be stimulated to make people more generous, and how the Institute’s research can help treat diseases.
